Slop Layered Cake – sinfully delicious {Recipe}

Want to treat your friends to sinfully delicious chocolate surprise? My friend (Heather) her Mom (Diana) gave me this recipe years ago (1990’s) on a 4th of July block party. I’ve been making this ever since as a special treat for friends. So today I want to share this simple recipe with you!

Slop Cake Details

Ingredients:
1 box Devil Food Cake Mix (I use Pillsbury w/the pudding in the mix)
1 box of Instant Pudding Mix
1 large container of Cool Whip
1 bag of Heath English Toffee Bits
1 spray can of Crisco Pan Release (you could use any brand)
When I make this I always use a clear container as it’s a beautiful display of layers

Directions:

  1. Cook the cake mix per the box instructions (spray pan with Crisco Pan Release)
  2. Make the pudding mix per the box instructions
  3. Once everything is cooled time to start layering!
  • cut cake into squares then take each square and break open and cover the bottom of the container
  • next layer pudding just enough to cover the cake
  • next layer cool whip just enough to cover the pudding
  • next sprinkle the heath bits
  • keep on layering until the container is filled

Mississippi Roast {Recipe}

My sister Julia made Mississippi Roast for my birthday this year. So I thought I would give it a whirl and make it for myself for Christmas. All it takes is 5 ingredients and 8 hours of cooking.

Mississippi Roast ingredients:

  1. Chuck roast
  2. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing (envelope not bottle)
  3. McCormick Au Jus mix (envelope not bottle)
  4. One stick of butter
  5. 5 Pepperoncini Peppers (you buy them in a jar)

Directions:

1.  Put the roast in the crock pot

2.  I rubbed some Lawry’s Garlic Salt and Lawry’s Seasoning Salt in

3.  Sprinkle Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing on top

4.  Sprinkle McCormick Au Jus mix on top

5.  Put a stick of butter on top

6.  Put about 5 Pepperoncini Peppers on top

Do NOT add water or anything else!

7.  Turn on crock pot on low

8. Cook for about 8 hours
If you have any animals, they will love the smell as much as mine did!
When it’s all done the seasoning and juices will blend together.
I took out the peppers and drained the little bit of greese and it was ready to serve!
Hope you enjoyed this and feel free to pass it along! Bon Appetit

My dear friend Ingrid Snow passed on this recipe to me. I feel I have mastered it finally. I have enjoyed baking it and giving it as Christmas presents this year to my family.

As I inherited the recipe, I want to pay it forward. So here it is. Be sure you try it for yourself as it’s super easy to make and so delicious to eat.
