About the species:
The Lazuline Sabrewing is a medium-sized hummingbird that measures around 11.5 to 13 cm (4.5 to 5.1 in) in length and weighs about 6.4 to 8 g (0.23 to 0.28 oz). They are easily recognizable due to their large size and unique appearance. Male Lazuline Sabrewings have blue bellies and reddish-purple tails. They also have bills that curve downward.
