About the species:
The Great-billed Hermit is a small bird that measures 13 to 17.5 cm (5.1 to 6.9 in) in length and weighs 4.5 to 10 g (0.16 to 0.35 oz). It is easily recognized by its faint stripe on its throat. This hummingbird can be found in wet forests, bamboo areas, and shrubs in different types of forests. Its diet consists of nectar and small insects, just like other hermit birds.
