About the species:
The Ruby Topaz hummingbird is 8 to 9.5 cm (3.1 to 3.7 in) long and weighs 2.5 to 5 g (0.09 to 0.18 oz). There is no mistaking the Ruby Topaz male; it has a golden throat, a ruby-red crown and an orange tail with dark tips.
