DIVE INTO THE WORLD OF HUMMINGBIRDS
Anthony Lujan
Photographing Hummingbirds of the Americas
There are 365 species of hummingbirds found across the Americas, each adapted to its own habitat, elevation, and ecosystem. From tropical rainforests to cloud forests and mountain slopes, these remarkable birds display an extraordinary range of color, form, and behavior. Anthony’s work documents this diversity through photography, highlighting the beauty and uniqueness of hummingbirds throughout the New World.
Anthony’s lifelong passion is to photograph as many hummingbird species as possible.
To date, he has photographed 245 species, representing roughly 67% of all known hummingbird species. With each journey across the Americas, that number continues to grow as he documents these remarkable birds in their natural habitats. Many of the species Anthony photographs are endemic or endangered hummingbirds, highlighting the importance of conservation.
