The Planalto Hermit measures about 14 to 16.5 centimeters (5.5 to 6.5 inches) in length and weighs around 4 to 5 grams (.16 to .25 ounces). They have olive-green backs with cinnamon rumps and bellies. The bill is slightly curved with a red lower mandible and a prominent dark mask. It's got a long tail with white tips that catch your eye.
