Wildlife Photographic Magazine, Issue 77 (January to February 2026)
International Hummingbird Society recently authored a feature for Wildlife Photographic Magazine that spotlights how the Society turns photography into real-world conservation action in Chile. The nine-spread piece highlights partnerships with Oikonos Ecosystem Knowledge, restoration work supporting the Juan Fernández Firecrown, and habitat restoration funding through American Bird Conservancy for the Chilean Woodstar microreserve, Axaca Luli. The feature includes Juan Fernández Firecrown images by Alice Madar and Board Member and fellow hummingbird photographer Carole Turek, alongside my Chilean Woodstar photography, a species central to my personal conservation mission. The story closes with my Wine-throated Hummingbird as the final banner image, a visual signature that brings the Society’s mission to a clear, lasting finish.
