Interviewed by CanvasRebel on Hummingbird Photography and Conservation
I’m honored to share that I was recently interviewed by CanvasRebel, where I had the opportunity to discuss my work, my path into hummingbird photography, and the conservation focus of my projects.
The conversation explores the evolution of my work, from photographing hummingbirds to documenting species that are increasingly difficult to find due to habitat loss, climate pressure, and environmental change. It also touches on the motivation behind Endangered Hummingbirds: Seeing the Crisis Through My Lens and the role photography can play in making these species visible.
The interview focuses on the balance between photography and conservation, and the responsibility that comes with documenting species at risk. It reflects on how spending time in these habitats shifts perspective, from simply capturing images to understanding the urgency behind them.
CanvasRebel is a digital publication focused on sharing stories from artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives, with an emphasis on highlighting the experiences, challenges, and perspectives behind their work. Their interviews aim to provide insight into the process and mindset of individuals building meaningful projects across different fields.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this perspective and to be included among other creatives and storytellers working to bring attention to meaningful work.
