Endangered Hummingbirds Named Finalist in the 2026 Next Generation Indie Book Awards

I’m honored to share that Endangered Hummingbirds: Seeing the Crisis Through My Lens has been named a finalist in the 2026 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the Science / Nature / Environment category.

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards recognize independently published books that demonstrate excellence in writing, presentation, and subject matter across a wide range of categories. As one of the largest international awards programs for independent publishers and self-published authors, the program recognizes books that contribute meaningful perspectives and storytelling within their fields.

Being recognized in the Science / Nature / Environment category is especially meaningful because the book was created to bridge visual storytelling with conservation awareness. Endangered Hummingbirds documents species living in increasingly fragile ecosystems while also exploring the environmental pressures shaping their future, including habitat loss, climate change, invasive species, and fragmentation.

This recognition reinforces the importance of bringing attention to biodiversity loss through both photography and accessible conservation storytelling.
